Gentleman's Choice

{Earrings, Bracelet - Aldo; Tank - Target; Clutch - F21; Jeans - Hudson; Shoes - Bakers}

Ok ladies, who do you dress for - yourself, your significant other or other women?  I am kind of a mixture of all of them, but in the end, usually dress for myself.  However, if the hubs does not approve of the outfit, I honestly feel very self-conscious, so I do try to avoid wearing things that I know he will think are horrendous.  He usually likes what I put together though and I always ask for his opinion . . . I do not always agree with his opinion and will often do the exact opposite of what he suggested, but I still like to hear what he has to say and have found that he has pretty good taste!  Sometimes when he goes shopping with me, we will play the little game of "Go pick out an outfit that you like for me" so that, a.) I can see what kinds of things he likes on me and b.) it keeps him busy and interested!  Well, I decided to extend this little game to the blog and this outfit was entirely picked out by him!  He raided the closet while I sat back and watched and thought, "I could get used to this!"  He is a jeans and t-shirt kind of guy, so naturally, that is his favorite kind of outfit on me; but he surprised me with dressing it up a bit and I love what he picked.  The process was a little nerve-racking for both of us but we had fun with it and I am thinking not only would I like to make it a monthly feature, but I would love for you all to join me!  So what do you think - would you let your significant other pick out an outfit for you?  If so, I would love to see the pictures and postings!!  Please feel free to either post the pictures on my Facebook page or link to your post in the comments so I can check them out!

  1. First for myself, then for other woman and lastly for men ;) My husband doesn't ever have an opinion on my outfits. I think he likes it when I do boho-chic though. You look lovely and the jeans are such a great fit. I am so done with skinny jeans now, this shape is what I am after x

  2. I always dress for myself--what I like and what I feel comfortable in. But I agree with you that if the H doesn't like it I get self-conscious too! I love what your hubby picked out for you! If I get mine to pick out something for me--I'm sure he'll be sooooo excited about it lol--I'll definitely link it back here!

  7. Any outfit that my husband picks out would be wildly inappropriate for FB. ;) I'll see if I can ask hime more nicely (and specifically) to find something that he'd like to see me wear "IN PUBLIC." Ha ha.

  10. Awesome idea!

    My boyfriend always tells me he prefers women in jeans and a tee. I love the look when I want to be comfortable, but sometimes I like to dress it up a little more than that, so I only pay attention to him sometimes ;)

    But I should see what he would pick for me! I'm curious now...

    I think it's cute your let your hubby pick your outfit out - he did a good job! Me and my husband are total opposites when it comes to fashion. I'm a bit out there for him... he's a polo and jeans kinda man. I enjoy it though - and I think he gets a kick out of seeing what I put together!

    my hunny is good at shopping, he can always find something I would never pick out and I always love it! But when it comes to what I already have, he always says "wear something with color" haha

  20. Loved this post! Your OOTD is so cute!

    I think it's fun to let the husband pick the outfits every once in a while. Sometimes I am just at a loss about what to wear (ex: a work party that has not specified a dress code). Hubs is SO good at telling me something's too "flashy" (I think he means slutty/more appropriate for a date night). Ha ha! We're going to (his) friend's wedding this summer, so I will want his input.

    I dress mostly for myself, I guess, but I also wanna *try* to look hot for my husband (since most of the time he sees me in a tee, yoga pants, and sans makeup). I don't think I really dress for other women, per se. I mean, if someone saw me, I would hope they would think, "She has a cute outfit on!"

  21. Thank you!! Lol, you're too cute! I know, I like to dress up for hubbykins too since I'm usually in ratty ol' sweats at home! And there are times I dress for other women, like when I'm meeting the girls for lunch or something. I'm sure people always think you "have a cute outfit on" - you're adorable!! :)

  26. Cute. My guys loathes what he calls "tarzan tops" the one shoulder tops. I'm a "i dress how i want" type of gal but i definitely realized I stay away from those tops ever since he said that.

  27. Lol!! I know - it's so funny to hear the names they come up with sometimes! My harem pants are "pirate pants" and he hates them!!! :)
