Strawberry Pretzel Squares

I am still on my chocolate ban; it has been about three weeks now and I just have not been needing it like I usually do for some scary reason.  However, I have been craving anything with strawberries and came across this recipe which immediately took me back about 20 years to summer evenings when I could not scarf my dinner fast enough just to get to dessert.  I think just about everyone I know had these jello/pretzel treats as a kid and it seems to be one of the most universally known summer desserts.  I was anxious to try it again and hoped that it was every bit as good as I remembered . . . I was not disappointed, it was delicious and refreshing, and I felt like a kid again!

I gave up chocolate for lent one year, and half-way in I didn't even want it anymore. I was actually turned off by the thought of it (..so crazy!). But then I HAD to try it again, and I'm back to eating it all the time...so much for that!
