Cinnamon Roll Cake

Piece of cinnamon roll cake

We were in a baking mood the other day and wanted to try something new, so I went through my trusty Pinterest board and found the most amazing Cinnamon Roll Cake recipe.  I am always a sucker for cinnamon rolls and thought it was a pretty genius idea to make it into a cake - you can't go wrong with that!  It tasted exactly like a cinnamon roll in cake form . . . hence the name.  It was so moist and sweet, it just melted in your mouth and was incredibly hard to stop eating.  After sinking my teeth into this, I don't know that I will ever make cinnamon rolls again - this was so much easier and tasted a million times better than any rolls I've ever made; and quite possibly even better than anyone else's cinnamon rolls that I have tasted.  Possibly, I said; I would need to try them all again, in the name of research, just to find out once and for all.

I made it! You had me hooked with your fabulous pictures. I didn't have butter, but I had coconut oil and substituted it and it was perfect. Very moist and flavorful. Thanks Sherry for the inspiration to turn on the oven in the Florida heat!
