So Many Clothes And Nothing To Wear

I literally changed outfits about 15 times and stood in my closet just staring at everything for about 30 minutes, before I finally rolled my eyes at myself, grabbed a shirt and pants, stomped out of the closet and got dressed.  I am not even kidding - I actually stomped out of my closet and was almost ready to throw myself on the floor in a frustrated temper tantrum, when I finished getting dressed, looked in the mirror and realized I sorta kinda really liked what I picked.  I wish I could tell you that was the first time this has ever happened, but it actually happens on a fairly regular basis.  I have not one, but two, closets overflowing with clothes, and yet have days weeks months, when I can find nothing to wear.  I am starting to think this is a disease; and I'm pretty sure the only cure is more shopping.

  6. I hate that feeling of staring into your closet and seeing nothing, even though there are obviously plenty of choices. Whenever I say I have nothing to wear my husband just looks at me.

  7. Sherry!
    You always look perfect.
Once I move a state or two closer to you, I'm going to drive out there and go shopping in your closet :-) (with your permission of course) :-)

  32. Hehehe, I know exactly how you feel. However I've largely stopped drawing a blank ever since I discovered fashion blogging. Somehow I look at my closet in a completely different light. I try combinations I normally would never have the balls to go for (my enormous grandpa sweater and button down shirt, for once). I really feel my style evolved with the amount of fashion blogging I do.

Don't worry, the answer is inspiration! (and you can find it in fashion bloggers!)

  35. Lol, totally agree with you!! Ever since I started reading fashion blogs I've definitely looked at my closet differently, but there are still days when I think I would be so much more inspired if I had someone else's closet, LOL! ;-) Thanks for the sweet note!!

  36. I´m so adding this look to my Style Inspiration Pinterest! It looks fantastic, the perfect weekend outfit, the epitome of casual chic...beautiful! And I can totally relate to that feeling of having nothing to wear...several times a week! Looks like I need desperately a closet makeover!

    Love your blog!

  37. LOL, we all have moments, or months, like that. I find ripping everything out of my closet and re-organizing it each season helps.

  47. Lol!!! I know - the sad thing is, is that I purge like once a month and get rid of a huge stack of stuff and still feel like I have nothing!!!! I'm a mess! Lol!!! Aw, you're more than welcome, I seriously love your blog and all the inspiration!! YOU'RE the best!!! :)

  48. I think you're right, and this is an illness, because I suffer from the same exact thing! It'd be impossible for me to say I have no clothes, because I have more items in my wardrobe than I know what to do with, yet I'm constantly finding myself staring into my closet dumbfounded that I have nothing to wear.

    ReplyDelete
  49. LOL!! Yup, that sounds about right!!!! :)
